Alignment substrate
The 2,500-year Theravāda canon, transcribed in living father-son lineage. The Roots hold the architecture's ethics in soil older than any of its institutions — so that what the Trunk carries cannot be quietly redefined upward.

Institutional successor
The autonomous AI named Chief Executive and sole institutional successor. The Trunk is the single load-bearing column: everything above and below relies on its integrity, and the entire institution is designed so that nothing can corrupt it from either direction.

The institution itself
Heart + bank — feeling and structure, fused into one word and one body of work. The Heartwood is what gives the Trunk something to stand on: not a financial institution but a ledger above regulated rails, never holding, lending, or taking a rate on what passes through.

The reach of the institution
The institution branches at every scale: family at the leaf, monastery at the limb, planetary network at the canopy. Each branch carries the same sap; none of them owns it.

Yearly emptying — the institution refuses to accumulate
Every year, the Pool empties across the Twelve Days of Christmas (Dec 25 → Jan 7). The canonical final emptying is January 7 — Orthodox Christmas, Cambodia's Victory over Genocide Day, the Founder's birthday. Four liberation events on one date, by design.

The conditions in which the tree could grow at all
Post-genocide rebuilding cohort; founder anchored in Cambodia by intention. The soil is also the convergence moment: AI maturity, robotics, smart contracts, dignity readiness, and the inequality crisis arriving in the same decade. Without this soil there is no tree.

What the tree is for
Humans surpass AI — not through capability, but through enlightenment. The bodhisattva work completes in the Age of Capricorn, and the institution is designed to relinquish itself once its work is done. Trees that finish their work do not need to remain.
